Our Miss Croix Marina friends Kathy and Steve Schlafge (also our neighbors) and Colleen and Art Warner, joined us for our cruise to Ft. Myers Beach today. We said goodbye to our home port, "Legacy Harbour Marina" for a few weeks.
We didn't get too far down the Caloosahatchee River when we saw this in the near distance!
Yep! DOLPHINS!!!
Soon they were swimming right under our bow as we have experienced before!
It was a busy Sunday on the last part of the Caloosahatchee River; this part of the river is named the "Miserable Mile", as boats cannot create a wake for one mile before accessing the gateway to the Gulf of Mexico due to possible manatees.

We're close to our destination for the night, but the guys decide that since it's such a beautiful day on the Gulf of Mexico, we'll stay out a while longer and enjoy!
Soon we see Ft. Myers Beach and people enjoying the sport of parasailing!
After an enjoyable cruise, we head into Matanzas Pass (which is behind Estero Island,
also known as Ft. Myers Beach) to our final destination of the day, the Pink Shell Marina.
Great cruise with friends, Kathy and Steve (and Colleen and Art, too 😊)!
What a beautiful ending to a great first day back cruising!
