Mon. & Tues., Oct. 23 & 24 - Still in Pensacola, Florida

And here it is, the rest of the story:

Back up ten days or so to when we arrived in Demopolis, Alabama.  Needing to take on some fuel, we parked the boat on the fuel dock, where there was a depth of eight feet.  After fueling, the attendant untied the lines and Captain Dave put the port engine in reverse and could feel the propeller striking something.  He then put the starboard engine in reverse and could feel that propeller striking something.  After drifting back a few feet, Captain Dave put the engines in reverse and had an all-clear.  Apparently a log had drifted in while we were at the fuel dock. We took the boat for a short test run before docking for the evening.  After running the boat a little past half-throttle, there was no vibration; we thought we were in the clear.  Two days later while cruising, we decided to put the boat up on plane.  When reaching around three-quarter throttle, about 2200 rpms, the boat developed a vibration.  Both Captain and First-Mate were VERY disappointed!  The next day we made some phone calls to find a marina that could accommodate us, which means to haul out the boat, take off the props, and have them repaired, balanced, and put back on.  The marinas close to us indicated that it would take them about a week and a half to do the work.  We found Pelican's Perch Marina and Boatyard in Pensacola, who thought they would be able to perform the service in a real timely fashion.  So Monday morning, the boat was hauled out, blocked, and props removed by 8:30 in the morning.  We transported the props to AccuProp, a computerized prop-tuning facility, that was expecting us.  To our pleasant surprise, the props were ready by Monday evening!  Tuesday morning we picked up the props, delivered them to Pelican's Perch Marina, where we had asked the marina people to clean and wax the hull of the boat since it was already out of the water.  Service and repairs were done by 2:00 and "Johnson & Johnson" was back in the water by 3:00!  Since our next destination is five hours away, we will be departing in the morning.

Since we weren't able to stay on our boat Monday night when it was on the hard, we decided to take a side trip to Pensacola Beach!

The white, sandy beach is absolutely beautiful!
Since it was windy, the beach had some magnificent waves!

 Enjoyed a beautiful sunset!

I think the Turtles enjoy the beach as much as we do!

On Tuesday we were back in Pensacola where we enjoyed a lunch "Al Fresco" style!
Such a cute downtown area!

Once back at Pelican's Perch Marina, the new props were on and the boat was looking spectacular!

Back in the water she goes!!!

Captain and First-Mate are excited to get back to cruising tomorrow morning!😄
