Sunday, October 8 - Back to Iuka, Mississippi

We woke up in Memphis to great news about Hurricane Nate!  So glad it weakened and shifted eastward.  Excited to get back to the boat, but "when in Rome" (or Memphis in this case😉),
"I'm going to Graceland, Graceland, Memphis, Tennessee"🎵.

We weren't sure about making this trip to Graceland, home of Elvis, but we were told by many different people that it was well worth seeing; and we would agree!
First stop, the many museums.  This one housed all of his awards; and boy, are there A LOT!!!

After looking at many different museums about Elvis, it was our turn to go through Elvis' home; Graceland.

We ended our tour at the Elvis' Automobile Museum.
Of course the pink Cadillac was my favorite!💗

As we left Graceland, we saw the two planes Elvis owned:  "Lisa Marie", a Convair 880 and "The Hound Dog II", a Lockheed JetStar.

Heading east, back towards the boat, we saw some of the remains of Hurricane Nate!😲
As we got closer to the clouds, they dissipated and we never even experienced one drop of rain.

Captain Dave gives a double-thumbs up, as everything on the boat looked GREAT; thank goodness!

After readjusting lines, putting the bimini back on, as well as the cushions and their covers, we decided to visit the famous Freddie T's, just one mile away across the border into Tennessee.
As soon as we got out of the car, we saw the rooftop bar and restaurant, where we enjoyed some yummy quesadillas.  As we were waiting for our food, we were talking about a big event that was held here this past Friday night (when we went to Memphis).  The event was a fundraiser with a large band.  As we looked around, we couldn't fathom how a band and many people would fit on this rooftop bar, or for that matter, right below us where all the pool tables were housed.

Heading to our car, we saw another section attached to Freddy T's that was one level and very large with the following restaurant hours.  This must have been where Friday night's event was held.

Interesting that this part of the restaurant is closed on Sundays.  I guess it must be because they hold church here!!!

Boy, they sure have A LOT of communion wine!!!

The laws about drinking around here are VERY interesting!  The restaurant that is on the marina property in Mississippi where we're currently staying, can only serve beer.  You can bring your own bottle in and drink it, however! 😕
