Monday, September 25 - Paris!!! { Tennessee, that is! ;) }

Last night we went to the very famous "Patti's 1880's Settlement" for dinner.  Our fellow loopers, Chip, Walt, and Midge joined us.  This restaurant is famous for their 2" thick pork chop!  This is a "dry" restaurant, however they will let you bring wine in and they'll even provide the glasses!😆🍷

Thank you Gillespies, Vialls, Zahradkas, and Staples for the personalized bottle of wine!
Not only was the bottle cute, it was also deeeelicious!!!

Fellow looper, Chip, is excited about the massive 2" thick pork chop!

Dave and I decide to split the pork chop!!!

Monday morning after water aerobics at Green Turtle Bay, we leave this awesome resort as I tidy up the lines on the deck.

We exit Lake Barkley through the canal, and return to Kentucky Lake.

There are MANY bays in Kentucky Lake.  One of the first ones we pass is Pisgah Bay.  On the left as you enter the bay is a quarry that was flooded when Kentucky Lake was formed!

Just one mile past Pisgah Bay, is Birmingham.  This village was flooded when the Kentucky Dam was constructed.  All that remains of the village are the foundations underwater southwest of the marked channel!😲

We encounter only two bridges throughout our 45 mile voyage today.
This bridge is at mile 41.7 on Kentucky Lake.

Even though we are on a lake, there is still a channel that Captain Dave needs to follow
(driving once again with the remote!)

Mom, were your ears ringing?  We were thinking of you as we passed by "Ginger" Bay!💗

This beautiful rocky edge is the beginning of Clay Bay.

Right after Clay Bay, we begin to see a few islands to our right.  Notice how calm the lake is!

Next, a little excitement, as we see our first towboat on the lake!
Remember how many we had on the rivers?
Let's just say that if we don't see another towboat for awhile, we'll be just fine!

This is Panther Bay, and if you look to the right of the picture, you'll see a very small white boat.
It's actually a 56' Seahorse Trawler named "Keokuk" that was in Green Turtle Bay Marina with us.  Anyway, where this boat is, is the state line between Kentucky and Tennessee!

As we pull into Paris Landing State Park Marina/Resort for tonight's stay, the first thing we see is the United States Coast Guard station to our left.

We saw so many beautiful anchorages in the different bays today, however with the high heat and humidity, we are keeping cool by plugging in so we can run our air conditioning.  A little later tonight we will head to the resort's lodge for dinner.

Good night from Paris, Tennessee!

This is a replica of the original Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.  The tower was originally constructed to commemorate the 1990 Memphis in May festival.  Each year the festival honors a country, and 1990 focused on France.
