Monday, September 4 - LaCrosse, Wisconsin

Beautiful morning as we head south to Trempeleau.

As we head into Lock 6 at Trempeleau, we see one of our slip neighbors from the Miss Croix Marina in Prescott, "Bella Rumore", slipped in Trempeleau! (We both end up at Pettibone Yacht Club in LaCrosse at the end of the day! 😊)

As we leave Lock 6, we see a tow waiting for us to exit; we realize it will be another busy day on the Mississippi River!

As we wait for a tow at Lock 7, we meet our first "Loopers" (check out their flag)!  This is the THIRD time Jonathan and Rosa have done the Loop in "Salty" (hence the platinum flag)!  Their third loop will be complete when they reach Florida in November.  We had our first experience trading cards with this couple (as that's what "Loopers" do 😉); thanks for chatting with us,
Jonathan and Rosa!

Safe travels!

Before we head to Pettibone Yacht Club for the night, we take a detour up the Black River to refuel.  We learned from the lock master at Lock 7 that in order to get the bridge on this river to open for us, we needed to call them (the bridge tender is located in the Twin Cities and operates the bridge from there!)

LaCrosse!!!  Our home for two nights!💖

Time for some fun off the boat.  Jacqui and Tyler enjoy a bike ride, Krystina gets some exercise in the park, and Tony does a little fishing!

We all enjoyed our final night together with a delicious dinner at the famous Freight House.

Oh yah, and when in LaCrosse, a visit to The Helm is a must (sorry Dave, but the photo was a must)! 🍻
